American CFDA designer Mark McNairy has partnered up with men’s monthly subscription clothing club, Five Four Club, to bring a limited-edition, well-priced designer collaboration to the men’s consumer, officially launching on Thursday, July 9th.
The capsule collection, titled CAMP MCNAIRY, is made up of 42 pieces total, with 33 different pieces inclusive with subscriptions, and then an additional nine pieces that enthusiasts can purchase a la carte if they like what they receive. The design was driven in part by what these members already have provided feedback on-colors, prints, patterns, silhouettes, etc.
This partnership is likened to fast fashion collabs, like the Target Go International and H&M designer collab programs, where designers get a subsidy and the consumer benefits from it with low prices for designer designed clothing. The difference is Five Four Club actually sends pieces based on the subscriber’s profile (choosing items they think each subscriber would like), and then allows the subscriber to purchase additional pieces if they love what they receive. This is a fashion first, sort of like where Amazon and Netflix match your interests.
