Today, our WCW goes out to the beautiful and fearless Screen Actors Guild award and Emmy nominee: Taraji P. Henson.
Taraji has been on top of the charts over the past few years with commendable performances on films and TV shows including “Hidden Figures,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “Person of Interest,” and currently TV’s number one broadcast drama series, “Empire.”
Throughout Henson’s line of work, she’s faced plenty of hate for her choice of roles and confident demeanor, 50 cent being one of them. He constantly insulted her and other members of the Empire cast in efforts to prove his hit show “Power” will always be number one. Despite the ruckus, Henson always remained content and fought back with facts to defuse the situation.
In over 20 years, Henson has been an actress, a producer, a mother, and an astounding role model. She puts her heart into every role she takes on, whether it’s the girl-next-door Yvette in 2001 “Baby Boy” to NASA’s math-genius, Katherine G. Johnson, in 2017’s “Hidden Figures.” There’s no limit to her success.
According to Entertainment Weekly, she’s been, “…getting more offers for features…” lately; appearing on several magazine covers including Essence, W Mag and EW just to name a few, as well as more opportunities for film and television including Screen Gems Proud Mary where she’ll be playing a hit woman — a role we’ve never seen her perform. Based on this information, I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of her this year without a doubt.
Empire returns Wednesday, Mar 22, with all new episodes on FOX.
