When it comes to rappers dissing other rappers, it starts to become the most talked about topic on radio. Hot 97’s Ebony during the show said Eminem’s working on a diss track about Drake.
Now some may say well Joe Budden did one and Meek Mill try to do his part but failed miserable. Usually those with an incredible amount of work done over 10 to 15 years would be certified to a diss track. And now comes Eminem, who worked with Drake on other tracks during his growth to stardom. Would the Slim Shady go after the Toronto star?
There is one reason why he would go after him. Some of the stuff he’s been doing lately besides rapping is being immature. From being a third wheel with other celebrities to practicality being part of everything outside of music, annoyance plays a factor. No one wants to be an irritated little fly going from one place to another, knowing consequences are coming ( like diss battles with Budden and Mill).
Maybe Eminem wants to teach Drake a lesson. Maybe he knows that his life as a rapper/pop star too much and needs to be more professional. It’s almost like a back in my day type of situation where the old school rappers teach the young ones the true art and meaning of being a great hip-hop star. Or just wants to have attention over Drake.
Nothing however can’t be as great as Ice Cube dissing NWA with his song No Vaseline. Literally set the standard on what a diss track needs to have: passion towards individuals compose with actual personal moments.
Be on the lookout for Eminem’s diss track in the future as it can shape the way hip-hop is being viewed for a long time.
